FIBERGLASS FLY RODS
Recently I have been very impressed with the new fiberglass blanks from the very highly skilled makers such as Mike McFarland, Mark Steffen, Yasuyuki Kabuto and companies such as Thomas and Thomas and Tom Morgan. I have also added my own Signature S-glass rods to these offerings.
My custom fiberglass fly rods, are built with the same attention and many of the same finishing techniques I use for my bamboo fly rods. All my fiberglass rods will be wrapped in high quality silk, and finished in traditional marine grade spar varnish. Grips are hand turned in my shop from the highest flor grade cork I can obtain. The components the same quality used on my bamboo rods. The reel seats are custom and exclusively made for me by Joel Lemke.
I stock a fair amount of blanks at any given time and will try and update my offering as often as possible, if you have any questions or would like to speak with me please contact me.
I plan to build glass rods in three build grades, the Signature grade, and the Perfection grade, I also offer a Mid-Stream grade. There will not be any difference in build or cork quality, type of finish, warranty, ect. The difference is simply the look of the finished rod. Rod prices click here.
