The system includes seven bamboo sections plus an extra tip, along with dedicated mid‑sections that allow the rod to be configured as either a 7'7" 5‑weight or an 8'6" 6‑weight. Both tapers are honest, lively, and true to their line ratings—one built for tighter water and controlled presentations, the other for broader reach and a touch more authority.

Windcrest’s hybrid ferrule approach remains central to the design: bamboo male ferrules that seat into fiberglass female ferrules. The connection is smooth, secure, and durable, preserving the warmth of cane while adding the consistency needed for multi‑section travel rods.
