MARK & TIM STEFFEN
Founders
From a garage in Flagstaff, Arizona, Mark and Tim Steffen built what would become the gold standard in fiberglass fly rods. Their ingenuity and commitment to feel, flex, and performance shaped a legacy that continues today.
SHANE GRAY
Owner
In 2021, Shane Gray took the reins after years of training under the Steffen brothers. A full-time rod builder and Michigan native, Shane personally builds, finishes, and ships every rod—his handwriting is on each one.
MIKE MCFARLAND
Blank Engineer
In 2023, blank production moved to Mike McFarland in Pennsylvania—known as the “godfather of glass.” With over 30 years of rod design experience, Mike brings precision and scale to Steffen’s original tapers.
